The
Bluff Centre is in close proximity to Cornwall's
Camel Trail. The Camel Trail is perfect for cycling
and you can also hire bikes in Wadebridge and Padstow.
The
Camel Trail is a cycle path following the line
of a disused
railway
which
was established
in 1834., and runs along the beautiful
the Camel Estuary from Padstow the 6 miles to Wadebridge,
and on another 8 miles
to Bodmin ; and yet on again to the western edge
of Bodmin Moor, the rugged heart of Cornwall. You can never experience
the Camel Trail the same way twice. When the tide comes
in on some stretches of the river and the weather and
the company you enjoy will always be different on the
Camel Trail.
The trail's history and the complexity of the railway
engineering may not be significant but a steam train
needed a level surface to run on. The Camel River dictated
how the course of the railway would run. From Slaughter
Bridge to The Doom Bar!
